Adults

During our lifetimes we may encounter situations which challenge how we view ourselves, how we function in relationships and how satisfied we can be in our lives in general. Sometimes we may be unable to face or deal with these situations alone.

Seeking the help of a psychologist will entail making an initial appointment for an assessment which may take one or more sessions. This will provide your psychologist with information about how best to help you. Psychotherapy and psychological treatment with adults usually involve a number of sessions lasting one hour each. The number of sessions, and how frequently these are, will be discussed with you. Issues regarding confidentiality and data protection are normally addressed in the initial session.

The following are some of the most frequent difficulties which we encounter in our clinical practice with adults:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Panic and fear reactions
  • Relationship issues
  • Bereavement
  • Trauma
  • Personal Growth & Development
  • Shyness and Social Anxiety
  • Stress Management
